Let me begin my saying that I’m willing to lose a few of you to get a few others to open their minds and let a little crazy in. It probably will come as no surprise to most of you that I, with my ghost hunting background, am a huge conspiracy theorist. It’s not a topic that I push in public a lot because I don’t enjoy alienating friends, but if people want to listen, I’ll talk at length (though I make it apparent that I love the sound of my own voice, so be warned). I’m a firm believer in not trusting the line towed by most government agencies and media outlets, especially when it comes to the truly freaky stuff. But I think what will surprise you even more is how much company I’m in, particularly when it comes to the bigger conspiracies.
In a somewhat recent National Geographic poll, done around the end of 2013, 77% of people surveyed said they believed that aliens had visited Earth at some point in history. 77%!!! Incidentally, and this isn’t a reflection of my own opinion or anything, but a Harris poll conducted around the same time showed that 68% of American’s believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Just last year, Canada’s former Defense Minister Paul Hellyer told a Russian TV station that aliens and UFOs are real. With the increase in sightings world wide year to year, including reports by former public servants, politicians, military personnel and government officials, when it comes to UFOs, it’s becoming very apparent that we as a people find it hard to believe we’re alone in the universe.
An AP-GfK poll conducted in mid-April of this year found that 59% of Amercians believed that there were multiple people involved in Kennedy’s assassination, with only 24% saying Oswald acted alone and 16% were undecided. Whether it was the CIA, the Mob, the Pope, the ghost of Abe Lincoln, whoever, a large majority of Americans aren’t sure of the given story. There has been so much evidence found in contrary to the Warren Commission Report, how can so much evidence be wrong. A little plug, if you’ll allow it, watch a documentary called Dark Legacy. It’s extremely interesting the evidence it produces and the lines it draws. And it’s pretty entertaining if you think it’s all crazy talk, good fodder for making fun of us nutjobs out here.
I’m not telling you what to believe or what to think about the events in our world and how they are shared among the people. I do believe that it is our duty at free thinking people to question what we hear and what we are told and shown. Who profits from blissful ignorance? To quote Alan Moore, “Who watches the watchmen?”
Do I still have any friends? Hello?
